Join professional writer John Sauls for an exploration into the process of creating fiction; the class will investigate elements such as character and dialogue development, self-editing, and listening to readers. Students will submit one brief written assignment for instructor comments (and peer discussion if desired).

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:
John Sauls is a native of North Carolina, and has lived there except when the FBI stubbornly required him to be elsewhere. A lawyer by training, he left the District Attorney’s Office in Raleigh, North Carolina to join the FBI in 1982. Thereafter served in Charlotte, North Carolina, New York City, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Washington, DC, the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia, Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He retired from the FBI at the end of 2003, and is now in private practice.
Married, with three sons and a daughter, he is the author of the novels: The Magician’s Secrets, Devil’s Oath, and Double Feature Boy.
