Arts of the Albemarle’s annual Landmark Show and Competition is returning for its 31st year in September. The competition is open to all two-dimensional works of art from artists 18 years of age or older. There is an entry fee of $20 for AOA members and $25 for non-members. Work must be received Friday, August 11th through Saturday, August 19th.
This year’s LandMark Show & Competition is generously sponsored by Thompson & Pureza, P.A.
All entries must clearly represent a subject distinct to the seven-county region of northeastern North Carolina. No abstract pieces will be accepted. Also, all work must be dry, framed, properly wired and ready for hanging. Gallery wrapped canvases will be accepted.
The juror for this year’s competition is Alexis Joyner. The 1st Place award will be $500, 2nd Place award $400, and 3rd Place award $300. A special award, the People’s Choice Award, in the amount of $200, will be voted on by the public at the First Friday ArtWalk and opening reception on Friday, September 1st.
